Travel and hotel editor
Born in a town near the city of Patra, North Peloponnese, Ira studied history with Masters focusing at Macedonia of the 20th century. She finally decided to follow the path awaiting her; magazines and travel. Ira started writing about travel adrenaline at “Fun in Action”, the first Greek magazine devoted to outdoor activities. After that she collaborated with some of Liberi’s Group flagship editions, such as “Focus”, the award-winning magazine of the airport of Athens; “2Board”, the Greek edition of “Conde Nast Traveller” and the “Mykonos Confidential” where she was also the editorial director.
Ira believes that the real journey is life and vise versa. She also believes that the combination of that relationship composes the art of escape. She followed that vision as a collaborator and then as Head for the publication “Best of the Best” for ten years. At that time Ira honored the best hotels in the world by choosing and writing about them. For ten editions, she was the associate editor of the “Luxury Hotel Guide”, the first selective guide of the best hotels in Greece. Her experience helped her to completely reshape L 'Officiel Voyage, while Directing L 'Officiel Hellas and L' Officiel Hommes and contributing to their successful transformation to the most upscale magazines in its fields. She has also teamed up with “Status”, the “Ef Zin”, “Outdoor & Sports”, and the Food Guide among others.
When she is not writing, she is dancing, reading, playing with her cats and traveling. Lately she is collaborating with “andro.gr” where she prepares interviews and also writes travel issues at “the Beautiful South”, her column at FNL-Guide.
